LOCATION: SHIBUYA, TOKYO<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n 9:30AM<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 MOVER ARRIVAL<\/span>\u00a0\u2013 Both the moving company and FREA staff arrive at the departing employee\u2019s company apartment for loading all leased pieces and any other items to be passed to the next incoming transfer.\u00a0 Smaller articles like the kitchenware have already been packed into shipping boxes (provided ahead of time by the moving company).<\/p>\n \u00a0 <\/p>\n 9:35AM<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 GAS SHUTOFF<\/span>\u00a0\u2013 The gas technician arrives to shut off the gas for the apartment unit (gas setup\/shutoff in Japan always requires an in-person visit to ensure everything is working safely).\u00a0 Appointments are made in 2-3 hour time blocks, so we had originally instructed the employee to stay in the apartment between 9AM-12PM in case.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 9:45AM<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 MOVE-OUT BEGINS<\/span>\u00a0\u2013 Moving commences after our staff thoroughly confirms directly with the movers which items are being transported, which are being collected for disposal, and which are being left as is (some other boxes are personal belongings being shipped home).\u00a0<\/p>\n Furniture is disassembled as needed and appliances such as the flat-screen TV are carefully wrapped to prevent damage.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 11:10AM<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 PRE-DEPARTURE CHECK<\/span>\u00a0\u2013 The movers have finished loading and after a final sweep through the mostly empty apartment to ensure everything under the company lease has been collected, they receive confirmation to depart for the new company apartment.<\/p>\n After checking with the outgoing company employee that any remaining move-out tasks are going smoothly on their end, we wish her safe and smooth travels home and then also depart for the new apartment location<\/p>\n <\/p>\n LOCATION:<\/span> EBISU, TOKYO<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n 11:55AM<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 MOVE-IN BEGINS<\/span>\u00a0\u2013 FREA is onsite at the new company apartment to receive the incoming movers.\u00a0 Our client in this case landed in Tokyo early in the morning and is already in the apartment as well.\u00a0 Electricity\/Water have been scheduled to already be usable from the beginning of the day so cool air from the wall A\/C units is already circulating in the apartment when we arrive.<\/p>\n The movers confirm the location and positioning for the arriving furniture\u2014a dining table set, refrigerator, large pull-out sofa, TV stand, and one bed frame.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 1:30PM<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 MOVER COMPLETION CHECK<\/span>\u00a0\u2013 Moving-in of furniture and appliances has wrapped up.\u00a0 Upon installing the washing machine the moving staff starts an empty test load to ensure the machine and water drainage are working properly.\u00a0<\/p>\n FREA staff also completes a final confirmation with the moving staff that everything has been transported (including a quick check of the moving vehicle itself).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 1:35PM<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 GAS SETUP<\/span>\u00a0\u2013 The gas technician arrives to open the gas supply for the apartment.\u00a0 After confirming the utility contract details and checking that everything is working correctly, the technician also provides a quick demonstration to our client on how to operate the stove, hot water temperature settings and some bonus features in his bathroom.\u00a0 FREA staff provides interpretation for this helpful information as the technician only speaks Japanese.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n 1:45PM<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 NEW FURNITURE DELIVERY<\/span>\u00a0\u2013 The representatives from the furnishing lease provider arrive slightly early to the apartment (originally scheduled for 2PM).\u00a0 They are here to deliver the larger bed frame, new mattresses and install brand new, custom-made curtains (which we mentioned in the last article).<\/p>\n After confirming the placement and direction of the bed, leasing staff unload the pieces and rapidly, skillfully assemble the new bed fame.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 2:45PM<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 APARTMENT WALKTHROUGH & ORIENTATION<\/span>\u00a0\u2013 With assembly of the new bed completed, all of the leased furniture and appliances are fully in place.\u00a0 FREA staff performs a detailed walkthrough of the apartment and takes reference notes of any noticeable property stains or flaws (to be submitted to the property management).
